The Twisted Chimney is a 3-story Queen Anne home built in 1895 for newly-weds Frank and Josie Smith. Frank was the surveyor of the Cumberland colliery and was also involved with the layout and naming of the town's roads.

As current custodians of this grand old house, we are making one of its rooms available as a B & B. Our Heritage Suite offers many period features: an antique double bed speaks of timeless luxury with the comfort of a modern mattress. Ultra soft duvet and pillows, and hand-crocheted lace bedspreads will send you sighing into dreamland.... The room’s original fireplace and mantel, light fixture and ten-foot ceilings set a mood of Victorian elegance complimented by lace-curtained bay windows looking out to our spacious yard and mature flower garden. Furnishings are antique, with our heirlooms gracing the walls; and, as in the old days, the absence of television and telephone gives you the peace and quiet to browse through our curious collection of old books.

Fine Art

The Twisted Chimney also houses our fine art studio and gallery. View our latest show, right here in our living room! Purchase an original painting or one of our many handcrafted jewelry or leather work items. We aim to make your stay at the Twisted Chimney both relaxing and delightful!
